CLArchitects have successfully undertaken many commissions on listed buildings in the south east. Cambridge Terrace is a mid 19th Century Grade 2 listed terrace that forms part of the Waterloo Crescent Conservation area.
The terrace was originally built as 13 grand towns symmetrically centred on the corner unit. Four terraces were destroyed as a result of bombing during WW2.
These units were built as grand town houses over 5 floors and were all built to the same plan and details and have survived largely intact. The terrace units have been altered in their conversion from dwelling to offices breaking through the party walls to provide horizontal circulation.
The scheme proposes to subdivide the space into 25 flats using, as far as possible the existing layout and reinstating the vertical party walls where possible.
Many of the period details such as the fire places, coving, skirting and joinery will be retained and enhanced.
There will be a mix of 1,2 and 3 bed flats over the 5 floors offering fantastic views of the English channel and Dover Castle.
